<aside> 📊
A short guide to the numbers on your Inverted analytics. These are not YouTube “views.” We count people who actually watched, and how many days they sat down with the title.
</aside>
Default range is the last 30 days when you haven’t saved a filter. (The Filmmakers Analytics dropdown may still open on Last 7 days until we align it.)
| Number | What it means |
|---|---|
| Viewers | How many people watched this title. Each person counts once, even if they came back. We only count someone who watched enough to be real (not a one-second bounce). |
| Plays | How many days people sat down with this title. Same person Monday and Thursday = two plays, one viewer. |
| Plays per viewer | Plays divided by viewers. 1.0 = one sitting. 1.5+ = people are coming back. |
A two-hour binge on a single day is still one play. We are measuring sit-downs, not every tap of play, and not YouTube’s first-frame count.
The Plays chart is sit-downs over time. Taller bars = more days people showed up. If you see a previous-period line, that’s the same days last period, lined up on the current dates so you can compare.
Adding the bars should match the plays number on the cards (when those cards are on the page).
The wavy chart is where in the story people still were, as a percent of everyone who counted as a viewer.
Each row is how many people spent real time in that chapter (not how many plays).
